Marguerite E. Scott, 82, passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2013, at Resthaven Living Center in Bogalusa. A resident of Bogalusa, she was born in Fort Benning, Ga., on June 14, 1931, and she was a member of Eastern Star.

She is survived by a son, Earl “Butch” Scott; a daughter, Melinda Diane Ritchie Adams; a brother, Joel F. Smith; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Earl Lloyd Scott Sr.; a sister, Jenny Smith Baggett; and a brother, Walker B. “Buddy” Smith Jr, preceded her in death.

Visitation was held Thursday, Sept. 5 at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to until 1 p.m., when an Eastern Star service was conducted. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Patrick Magee officiating. Interment followed at Hillview Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers were Scott Thompson, Lance Pounds, Bucky Smith, Jody Smith, Taylor Scott and Cody Baggett.
