CYPRIAN

John Theodore “Mack” Cyprian, 71, departed this earthly life Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at Regency Hospital in Covington.

He was born April 1, 1942, in Independence, where he was a life-long resident. He was a faithful employee of the U.S. Postal Service, where he retired after 37 years.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Kelly Nichols-Cyprian; two sons, Patrick L. Waller (Almeda) of Dallas and Kenneth R. Nichols of Detroit; two daughters, Tamsin N. Cyprian of Metairie and Nicole M. Cyprian-Cruz (Victor) of Menifee, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; five brothers, Eddie J. Cyprian of Independence, Harold Cyprian of Hammond, Emile Cyprian of Independence, Gorman Cyprian (Gloria) of Slidell and Norman Cyprian (Carolyn) of Independence; two sisters, Deloris C. Street (Andy) of New Orleans and Yvonne C. York of Jacksonville, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Earl and Inez J. Cyprian, and three brothers, Elbert Coleman, Albert Cyprian and Robert Cyprian.

Visitation was held Friday, Aug. 30 at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Independence from 11 a.m. until time for religious services at 2 p.m. Interment followed at Mt. Olive Church Cemetery.
