WHITE

Ray Lynn White, died at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at his home in Loranger.

Born Jan. 1, 1941, he loved fishing and hunting, and formerly was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of New Sharon Baptist Church and previously was an active member of Chappapeela Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and led the singing.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ruth Vining White of Loranger; three sons and daughters-in-law, Heath and Tiffany White of North Carolina, Eric and Charity White of Walker and Curtis and Julie White of Loranger; a daughter-in-law and son-in-law, Debbie and Freddy Mount of Monterey, La.; 13 grandchildren, Lathan Davis, Tanya Davis, Grayson White, Jamie White, Jacob White, Michaela Thorpe, Meaghan Thorpe, Jaeson White, Reese White, Neela White, Jessie Mount-Patrick, Pete Mount and Raelin Mount;

six great-grandchildren, Jace White, Zoe White, Kayleigh Mount, Madeline Mount, Bella Mount and Logan Wilson; a sister, Janet Cortez of Metairie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His parents, a sister, Sue White, and a brother, Ralph White, preceded him in death.

Visitation was held Monday, Aug. 12 at New Sharon Baptist Church from 6-9 p.m., and continued on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Bro. Ron Ball and Bro. Darryl Miller officiating. Burial followed in the Chappapeela Baptist Church Cemetery.
