MULINA

Connie Sue Bateman Mulina, 71, a resident of Franklinton, died Sunday night, Aug. 11, 2013, at Christus Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, where she was visiting with family.

She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church who truly enjoyed cooking for family and getting together for holiday gatherings. Born March 13, 1942, she loved spending her time with the love of her life, Billie, gardening and enjoying their beautiful yard. Connie was a devoted and loving wife for 52 years and a dedicated and amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by three children and a spouse, Billie W. Mulina and Madonna Mulina of Poplarville, Miss., Michael and Christine Mulina of Aransas Pass, Texas, and Melinda S. Villere of Franklinton; 10 grandchildren and spouses, Steven A. Mulina of Aransas Pass, James and Glenna Mulina of Homer, David M. Mulina of Baton Rouge, Kristy and Mark Theriot of Gonzales, Denise Watts of Livingston, Brandy Mitchell of Baton Rouge, Billie and Jozet LaCroix of Franklinton, Megan Mulina of Aransas Pass, and Madison Villere and Masey Villere, both of Franklinton; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister and brother-in-law, Yvonne and Justin Bahm of Husser.

She was preceded in death recently by her husband of 52 years, Billie Sam Mulina; her parents, Claude and Lillie Batman; a sister, Shirley Creel; and two brothers, William Claude “Bud” Bateman and Ronald Garland Bateman.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug.15 at Crain Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m., and will continue on Friday from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Stan Statham and the Rev. Walter Mixon officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
