RAMEY

Sylvia Jean Brooks Ramey, 56, a resident of Franklinton, died at 11:05 p.m. Monday, July 29, 2013, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington.

Born Aug. 25, 1956, she was a longtime certified nursing assistant with the Guest House in Slidell. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing, and was a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by two daughters, Janine (Kenneth) Keigans of Moultrie, Ga., and Elizabeth (Shawn) Morse of Franklinton; her mother, Louella Randol Brooks of Wilmer; nine grandchildren, Bret Naylar, Logan Fredericks, Emily Keigans, Billy Keigans, Anna Keigans, Hailey Keigans, Rebekah Keigans, Kayla Ramey and Magen Ramey; two sisters, Valerie Burgess and Leesa (Mike) Pierce, both of Wilmer; brother and sister-in-law, Leo James and Susie Brooks of Wilmer; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A daughter, Paula Dean Ramey; her father, Leo F. Brooks; and her grandparents preceded her in death.

Visitation was held Wednesday, July 31 at Crain Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Elder Jason Skipper and Leo James Brooks officiating. Burial followed in the Wilmer Church Cemetery.
