Mattie Pearl White, 96, of Poplarville, Miss., died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at her residence in the Crossroads Community.

She was born on Sept. 2, 1916, in Coffee County, Ala., to Will and Ruby Yohn Roberts. She was a homemaker and a member of Mitchell Chapel Church of God.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Lee White; one daughter, Annette Risner; five brothers, Roy Roberts, Robert Roberts, DeWitt Roberts, R.J. Roberts and Frank Roberts; two sisters, Jessie Davis and Bessie Folsom; and one grandson, Jeff Harrell.

Survivors include one son, Grady J. White; two daughters, Alice Faye (Richard “Duke”) Harrell and Dean (Homer) Sheridan, all of Crossroads, Miss.; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services were held at noon on Friday, July 12 at White Funeral Home in Poplarville, with interment in Mitchell Chapel Church of God Cemetery. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
