JONES

John “Bo” M. Jones, 69, passed away Monday, June 29, 2013, at his residence in Bogalusa. He was born Oct. 3, 1943 in Enon.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Sun Masonic Lodge 336 and Zona Masonic Lodge 337. He was past president of Jerusalem Shrine Club (Hillbilly Unit) and a member of the Washington Parish Shrine Club.

He is survived by his wife, Valda L. Jones of Bogalusa; his son, Sean R. (Debbie) Jones of Bogalusa; two stepsons, Joe (Kim) Yargo of Hammond; John Yargo and Carrie of New Orleans; a stepdaughter, Angela L. Polkey of Franklinton; a brother, Bill Jones of Franklinton; a grandson, Hunter L. Jones; 10 step grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Danny L. Polkey; his brother, Greg Jones; his father and stepmother, Ivan Jones and Erma Jones; and his mother and stepfather, Vera and Charles Welch.

A family hour will be held Thursday, Aug. 1 at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 9-10 a.m., followed by visitation from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. when Masonic rites will be conducted. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. Interment will take place at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Shriners Burns Hospital.
