LESLIE

Gary Alvis Leslie passed away Friday, July 26, 2013, at LSU Bogalusa Medical Center at the age of 66. Born July 20, 1947, he was a native of Bogalusa and a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Varnado.                                    

He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Jones Leslie of Bogalusa; one son, Gary Ryan Leslie of Bogalusa; two daughters, Joy Valentine (Jimbo) Stevenson of Bogalusa and Kimberly Hope (Dale) Wicker of Covington; one brother, Tim (Rita) Leslie of Bogalusa; two sisters, Josie Cecil Hartzog of Angie and Margarette Galloway of Bogalusa; five grandchildren, Chase Kinley, James Stevenson III, Lauren Wicker, Jackson Wicker and Gage Leslie; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.                                                    

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Floyd and Mildred Lavane Doan Leslie; four brothers, William Leslie, Charles Leslie, Cecil Leslie and Richard Leslie: and sisters, Freda Miller, Laura Lee Cobb and Baby Lavane.                    

Memorial services were held Sunday, July 28 in the chapel of Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until time for services at 2 p.m., with the Rev Lynn Martin and the Rev. Mike Thomas officiating.

He was dearly loved by his wife and children and will be greatly missed.
