BEALL

James Winfred Beall, 79, died at 8 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at his residence in Franklinton.

He was a wonderful, loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Born Sept. 16, 1933, he was a member of Acy’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church, and he served as a deacon at Flat Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Alabama. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Winfred was a former milk truck driver who later worked for the USDA and retired as a milk sampler tester. He always had a great attitude and a smile on his face.

He is survived by three children and spouses, Veronica and Rodney Nobles of Pine, Karen Beall and Lee Smotherman of Pearl River and Avery and Lori Beall of Trinity, Ala.; grandchildren and spouses, Matthew and Tammy Nobles, Berkley and Marilyn Nobles, Derrick and Allison Nobles, Cynthia Nobles and Sergio Reyes, Brent Nobles and Danielle Freeman, Robin Nobles, Melyssa Beall and Jonas Jones, Danielle Beall, Jeremy and Kylie Simmons, Nicole and Jon Allen, Stanley, April and Joshua Thrasher and Katie Smotherman; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Darul and Mary Beall of Franklinton and Roy and Mable Beall of Denham Springs; three sisters, Nell Maniscalco and Sadie Blanchard, both of Denham Springs, and Clara Graves of Pine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Vera Taylor Beall; his parents, Alfred and Alice Beall; his in-laws, L.Z. and Perlie Taylor; an infant daughter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marion and Lillie Mae Taylor, and Sammy and Ruth Ingram; an infant great-grandson, Brody Simmons; and an infant great- granddaughter, Ivey Simmons.

Visitation was held Sunday, July 14 at Crain Funeral Home from 5-10 p.m., and continued on Monday at Acy’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m., with Bro. Duane Ball, Bro. Lavon Taylor and his great-nephew, the Rev. Jeremy Ingram, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Matthew Nobles, Berkley Nobles, Brent Nobles, Robin Nobles, Jeremy Simmons and Deran Branch.
