Ken B. “Big Al” Bond, 58, died at 10 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013, at his home in the Stony Point Community.
He was born on May 30, 1955, and was a longtime employee of Kentwood Auto Parts, where he was affectionately known as “Big Al” to his co-workers and the thousands of customers he served over the years. He was a longtime member of Stony Point Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sylvia Gail Reid Bond of Franklinton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Ann Marie Bond Graves and Shon Graves of Walker and Courtney Amanda Bond of Franklinton; three grandchildren, Michael Graves, Mark Graves and Alisabeth Graves, all of Walker; a sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Lloyd Fauntleroy of Watson; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Dale and Janice Bond, Gary and Carolyn Bond and Rodney and Rose Bond, all of Franklinton; and numerous nieces and nephews/
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred Bond and Alberta Bankston Bond; a niece, Tammy Ricks; and his father- and mother-in-law, Glenn and Doris Reid.
Visitation will be held Saturday, June 22 at Crain Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m, and continue on Sunday at Stony Point Missionary Baptist Church from 12:30 p.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m., with Bro. Brent King, Bro. Donnie Broome and Bro. Doyle Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers are grandsons Michael Graves and Mark Graves, and nephews Neal Bond, Todd Bond, Stephen Bond, Kevin Bond, Ryan Seal, Aaron Seal, Koy Reid and Gabriel Reid. Honorary pallbearers are co-workers Arnold Pizant, Walter Cooper, Tim Day, Lavon Landry, Marvin McLaughlin, Adam Duncan, Brock Lewis, Glen Forman and George Leblanc, and family and friends Chris Rogers, Toby Hughes, Danny Bond, James Bankston, Bo Coxen, Trey Toups and David Hood Burris
