MOSES

Louis J. Moses, 90, a resident of Bogalusa, departed this life at 4:25 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at LSU Bogalusa Medical Center.

He was born July 24, 1922, to the Rev. B.B. and Martha Moses, the first of 10 children. He was married to Conway Wilson Moses for 61 years.

He retired from Chrysler Motor Co. in Detroit. After retirement, he and his wife returned to Bogalusa and became members of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Varnado, under the direction of the Rev. Dr. A.S. Nelson. Louis worked with the finance department at Mt. Zion for many years.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one brother, the Rev. James H. Moses; two sisters, Helen (Gary) and Claranette; one special niece and nephew, Carmen Abston and Andree Johnson; and one special friend, Eve Booker. He also has a large number of loving cousins and friends, who are more like sisters and brothers, as well as many devoted nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; three brothers, Felton, Andrew and Robert; and three sisters, Allie Mae, Delissa and Hazel.

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 23 at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home in Bogalusa from 2-6 p.m., with a family hour from 6-7 p.m.

The funeral service will be conducted on Monday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Varnado, with the Rev. Dr. A.S. Nelson, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at the B.B. Moses Memorial Park on Moses Road.
