FHS victorious over Northlake Christian

Franklinton’s Mack McElveen had a big game in the Demons’ Northshore Summer Baseball League 12-2, five-inning victory over Northlake Christian School at home Monday.

McElveen threw a complete game one-hitter, allowing no earned runs on one hit with nine strikeouts, three walks and two hit batters. McElveen surrendered a hit to the first batter but none after.

Offensively, he hit a walk off two-run double, and he singled.

Morgan Angelo singled twice, while Austin Bradford and Jonathan Crain both doubled. Landon Magee, C.J. Estave, Trevor Smith, Major McElveen and Donovan Alonzo all singled.

Franklinton scored eight in the second before adding a run each in the third and fourth. Northlake Christian tallied twice in the fifth, but the Demons answered with the two of their own to end it on the 10-run rule.

Franklinton is 3-1.

S&M AC & Heating downs Loranger-B

S&M AC & Heating (Pine High Raiders) was a 9-2 winner over Loranger-B in Friday’s Independence Summer Baseball road game.

S&M AC & Heating is 1-2 in league play.

Jordan Phelps and Jamie Adcox both drove in two runs. Adarrius Berry posted a run batted in on a safety squeeze, but reached base on an error.

Starting pitcher Hunter Cooper picked up the win, going three innings and allowing just one run. Danny Smith threw two shutout innings in relief, while Seth Brown allowed one run in an inning of work.

Franklinton defeats Lakeshore

Franklinton’s C.J. Estave recorded three hits in an 8-3 victory over Lakeshore in Thursday’s road game of the Northshore Summer Baseball League.

Austin Bradford started and tossed three innings. Jonathan Crain threw three in relief, and Estave pitched the seventh.

The Demons turned four double plays. Two were grounders, going 6-4-3 and 4-6-3, while the others were lineouts.
