Marie Elise Porretto passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013 in New Orleans, at the age of 88.

She was born Aug. 30, 1924 in Dallas, Texas and reared in New Orleans. She spent her adult life living in Bogalusa, Biloxi, Miss. and New Orleans for the last 12 years. She was a devoted mother, wife and Catholic.

Survivors include her children, Albert F. Porretto Jr. of Gretna, Janine M. Porretto of Bogalusa and John R. Porretto of Houston, Texas; sisters, Miriam Bosworth O’Neil of California and Carolyn Bosworth Eason of Lake Charles; brother, Alvin L. Bosworth of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Skyler A. Wade and Tate S. Wade, both of Bogalusa; and one great-grandchild, Willow Olivia Silvia of Bogalusa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert F. Porretto Sr.; mother, Stella Fabacher Bosworth; father, Robert J. Bosworth Sr.; sister, Stella Bosworth Fransen; and brother, Robert J. Bosworth Jr.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 3 at 9:15 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 2090 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS, immediately followed by interment will be at Biloxi National Cemetery.

In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests donations be made in Porretto’s name to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6800 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, TX 77025.
