Pompey Gene Talley, 85, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at his residence in Sun.

He is survived by three sons, Frankie G. Talley of Sun, Erbin Eugene Talley of Sun and Kelvin Earl Talley of Sun; two daughters, Frances Kent of Sun and Jeannive Pullman of El Paso, Texas; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by half brothers, Hollis Milton Bynum and Walter “Bud” Bynum; sisters, Willie Amelie Pounds and Helen Earl Boyington; and his parents, Erbin and Marie Talley.

Visitation was held Thursday, May 30 in the chapel of Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Services followed at 2 p.m. at Sun Methodist Church in Sun, with Rev. Paul Coarse officiating. Burial was in the Pierce Cemetery.
