ROBERTS

Holyne Roberts, 74, a resident of Franklinton, died at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Regency Hospital in Covington.

Born Dec. 19, 1938, he was a longtime employee of LABC, where he met and loved many dairy farmers in Washington, St. Tammany and Tangipahoa Parishes. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served his time in Colorado and Germany. He loved being with family and friends and going about the neighborhood spreading his love and good works.

He is survived by his wife, Sue Erwin Roberts of Franklinton; two sons and daughters-in-laws, Norman “Joey” and Kim Roberts of Franklinton; Michael “Mickey” and Jennifer Roberts of Decatur, Texas; three grandchildren and spouses, Brittney and Jonathon Tynes and Brandy and Drew Daigle, all of Franklinton, and Bradley “BJ” and Julie Roberts of Baton Rouge; a great-granddaughter who was the light of his life, Emmalyn Daigle; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Jean Nielson and Patsy and Nickey Smith, all of Franklinton, and Bobby Bankston and Sue Marino, both of Baton Rouge; a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Linda Roberts of Mt. Hermon; and two sisters-in-law, Patricia “Pat” Brumfield of Franklinton and Grace Smith Roberts of Mt. Hermon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alyne Miller and Benton Frank Roberts, and a brother, Benton “Pete” Roberts.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22 at Fisher United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jimmy Oalmann officiating.
