GIVENS

Marvin James Givens, 73, died Monday, May 13, 2013, at his residence in Franklinton.

He was born April 13, 1940.

He is survived by four daughters and spouses, Jackie and Louie Moore of Denham Springs, Marlene and Danny Sullivan and Quida Givens and Daniel Phelps, all of Franklinton, and Rebecca and David Burch of Mt. Hermon; a grandson that he raised,

Dustin Givens, and spouse, Alicia Givens; nine other grandchildren and spouses, Alan and Trichlyn Wise, Scott Moore, Sara Moore, Lee and Emily Freeman, Robin and Toney Duncan, Meagan Sullivan, Connor Sullivan, Paul Pigott and Madelyn Burch; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Mae Wascom Givens; a grandson, Patrick Pigott; his parents, Edward and Piccola Jenkins Givens; two brothers; and six sisters.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 16 at Crain Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m., and continues on Friday from 10 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Russell Kirkland officiating. Burial will follow in the Bogue Chitto Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Alan Wise, Dustin Givens, Scott Moore, Lee Freeman, Connor Sullivan, Tony Duncan, John Schilling and Johnny Tarver.
