STATHAM

Sue Gatlin Statham, 76, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Regency Hospital in Covington.

She graduated from the University of California-Fullerton, and then went to work for Rockwell International where she worked as an engineering planner on the space shuttle programs. She retired in 1991 and she and her husband returned to Bogalusa in 1997.

She is survived by her husband, Charles L. Statham of Bogalusa; two sons, Edward Otis (Kathleen) Statham of Houston and Charles L. Statham Jr. of Bogalusa; three sisters, June Goodwin of Raleigh, N.C., Beth (Charles) Pepe of Baton Rouge and Sidney Brymn of Slidell; four grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah, Charles III and Chris; and two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Jayden.

Her parents, Edward and Louise Gatlin, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 5 at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m., and will continue on Monday from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Tom Dolph officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
