Crowe wins 300-hurdles in District 6-AA meet

Bowling Green’s Melissa Crowe qualified Southstate Meet individually in Thursday’s District 6-AA Meet held at Silliman Institute.

Crowe captured the 300-meter hurdles (51.39) by more than two seconds. She was also part of a pair of qualifying relay teams.

Bowling Green’s 4×100 and 4×200 squads both made the Southstate Meet.

The squads were made up of the same group, which included Kristina Jerrell, Katelin Junkins and Sarah Bahm.

Bowling Green’s 4×100 (58.05) finished fourth, while the 4×200 (2:02) came in third.

Central Private topped both the 4×100 (53.40) and 4×200 (1:52) with Silliman winning the 4×400 (4:31).

Thursday’s meet was a qualifier. The top four finishers from each event advanced to the Southstate Meet, which is being held at Silliman. The track events are Wednesday with the field Saturday.

Silliman’s Addie Roberts won the 100 (13.56), 200 (27.44) and long jump (16-5.5).

Centreville’s Taylor Hurst topped the 400 (1:05) with the host school’s Morgan Ohlinger winning the 800 (2:37), 1,600 (5:56) and 3,200 (13:06).

Oak Forest’s Reagan Riggins won the 100-hurdles (17.57) and high jump (5-0).

Silliman’s Mallory Hoover topped the triple jump (30-9), while Centreville’s Amanda Brown won the shot put (32-10.5).

Silliman’s Devin Coarsey bested the discus (96-5.5).
