CAUSEY

Mitchell L. Causey Jr. was born on Sept. 10, 1929,and he passed away at the age of 83 on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at North Oaks Hospital in Hammond.

He taught school in the Bogalusa School System for 30 years.

He was member of Greater Salter Chapel where he faithfully served the Lord in various positions and auxiliaries, including the senior choir for more than 16 years, a steward, a trustee, church treasurer, a handyman whenever there was a need, and van transportation. He was a faithful member of the Bogalusa Citywide Prayer Band for many years.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories his wife, Carrie G. Causey of Bogalusa; one daughter, Lauren Michelle C. Johnson of Bogalusa; one brother, Charles Ray (Hazel) Causey of Los Angeles; two sisters, Myrtle (Elroy) MeGlothen of Los Angeles and Ailda (Nathaniel) Le Doux of Henderson, Nev.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

His parents, Mitchell and Ora Causey Sr., preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 18 at Greater Salter Chapel AME Church from 10 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m., with Rev. Keith Sander, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Bogalusa Cemetery.
