The names Plessy and Ferguson became famous in conjunction with one another during the 1890s Supreme Court case, Plessy v Ferguson, which advanced the doctrine of “separate but equal.” Now the descendants of the two who once opposed one another have united to form the Plessy and Ferguson Foundation.
