The National Weather Service advisory Thursday morning cautions that there is a slight risk for severe thunderstorms in Washington Parish today as a warm front moves through the area.

Damaging winds of 50 to 65 miles per hour, isolated tornadoes, hail and locally heavy rainfall are concerns.

The rainfall will be more of a concern tomorrow when widespread totals of one to three inches, and local amounts of four to five inches are possible, according to the advisory.

The weather is expected to clear Saturday, but there will be another risk for severe weather in Washington Parish beginning Sunday night and into Monday.
