CARTER
Beulah B. Carter, 89, of Bogalusa, departed this life Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at Northshore Specialty Hospital in Covington.
She leaves to cherish her memories five daughters, Eulah (Larry) Jackson, Celeste (Jerome) Young, Bessie Lee Carter, Emelda (Tommy) Clark Sr. and Ellen Carter of Bogalusa; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; five great-great- grandchildren; special friends, Earl Brock, Linda Franklin and Rita Bell Johnson of Bogalusa; two stepchildren, Jacquelyn Johnson of Las Vegas, Nev. and Cecealine (Violet) Tate of Bogalusa; one grandson she raised, Keldon Clark of Bogalusa; a great-granddaughter who lived with her, Diamond Martin of Bogalusa; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Landy Carter Sr.; two sons, Rev. Landy Carter Jr. and Buddy Lee Carter; two daughters, Beulah Martin and Clirrie “Carrie Jean” Davis; her parents, Mattie and Son Haynes; two grandchildren, Calvin R. Martin and Tommy Clark Jr.; two sisters, Corine Taylor and Julia Barnes; five brothers, Walter, Eugene, George, Sam and Clarence Haynes; a son-in-law, Lovell Martin; and a daughter-in-law, Myrtis Carter.
Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 22 in the chapel of Crain & Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa from 2-6 p.m., followed by a family hour from 6-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Greater Salter Chapel A.M.E. Church, Dan Street, Bogalusa, with Rev. Keith Sanders, pastor, officiating. Interment will be held at the Bogalusa Cemetery.
