MITCHELL

Wayne Mitchell, 72, a resident of Henleyfield, Miss., passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2013.

A native of Pearl River County, Miss., he was a building contractor and a member of First Baptist Church of Henleyfield. He owned Mitchell Trucking and Mitchell Homes. He was a loving father and a great man who loved hunting, fishing and playing golf.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Mitchell; a son, Jarrett (Theresa) Mitchell; a daughter, Kimberly (Mitz) Cutrer; six grandchildren, Ashlee, Jeremy and Shelby Mitchell, and Kaley, Cody and Cameron Cutrer; two great-grandchildren, Bryson and Natalie Mitchell; a brother, James Mitchell; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wellon Mitchell and Effie Barber Mitchell; a sister, Betty Horner; a brother, Ron Mitchell; and a grandson, Craig Hayman.

Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 3 at McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune from 6-9 p.m. Funeral services were held on Monday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Henleyfield, officiated by Bro. Robert Bullock and Bro. Vernon Watts. Burial followed in Henleyfield Cemetery.
