Franklinton beats McMain

The Franklinton Demons won their second consecutive game Friday, beating McMain in a non-district contest, 56-53.

Franklinton also beat District 7-4A opponent Pearl River last week.

The Demons led McMain 14-8 lead after the first quarter and a 27-18 at the half. But McMain tightened the game in the second half, trailing by six, 40-34 after three quarters and finally falling by three points.

Logan Seal led Franklinton with 19 points. Trey Anders added 11, Adrian Magee scored nine, Dejion Alston had six, Azende Magee scored five and Pierre Wilson and Charmarl Magee had three each.

Seal also had eight rebounds, while Adrian Magee grabbed seven.

Christian Life tops Varnado

Christian Life remained unbeaten in District 7-1A play Friday, holding off Varnado, 41-31.

The Crusaders improved to 21-5 overall, while Varnado fell to 10-10 overall and 4-3 in league play.

Christian Life held a slim 9-6 lead at the end of the first quarter, but led 22-11 at the half. After three quarters it was 24-19. Varnado was led in scoring by Dominique Harry with nine points. Donte Carter scored eight, D.J. Jefferson had six, Demarius Robinson scored six and Bryan Miller added two.

The Crusaders were led by J. Stove with 16 points.

In junior varsity action, Christian Life beat Varnado, 53-34.
