Diane Martin Crain

Diane Martin Crain, 62, a resident of Thomas, died at 8:25 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, 2013 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital.
Born Sept. 17, 1950, she was a longtime member of Crain’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was always a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Lucius Crain of Thomas; three daughters, Debra Dowdy, Sherry (Gary) Warren and Shandle (Wayne) Martin, all of Thomas; grandchildren, Ashley Keller, Sandra Gerald, Amanda Warren, Allison Barber, Molly Dowdy, McKenna Dowdy, Gary Alan Warren and Santana Martin; three great-grandchildren, Chloe, Caroline and Kaden; an expectant great-grandchild, Emma Grace Fuller; three brothers, Arthur Wayne Martin, Jimmy Martin and Richard Martin, all of Thomas; four sisters, Brenda Finley and Pauline Thomas, both of Franklinton, Aline Amacker of Poplarville, Miss. and Geneen Phelps of Thomas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur “Pet” Martin and Elsie Schilling Martin, and a son-in-law, Carlos Dowdy.
Visitation was held Monday, Jan. 7 at Crain Funeral Home from 6-10 p.m. and continued on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Eld. Willie J. Passman and Eld. Richard Magee officiating. Burial followed in the Brooks-Martin Cemetery.
