Edith Marie Barber, 83, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. Born Jan. 22, 1929, she was a resident of Bogalusa.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin Barber of Bogalusa; sons, Melvin Lee Barber Jr. of Jackson Miss., John Wesley Barber of Bogalusa and Robert Dalgo of Alabama; daughters, Deborah Ann Barber Young of Rhode Island, Brenda Lee Downey of Slidell, Erica Shantel Barber of Bogalusa, Leona Dorton of Bogalusa and Barbara Robins of Tennessee; numerous grandchildren, family and other friends.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Louise Crawford, her parents, brothers and sisters.

Visitation was held Friday, Dec. 28 at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and continued on Saturday from 8 a.m. until time for services in the chapel at 11 a.m. Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery at Crossroads, Miss.
