The National Weather Service has indicated that there is a potential for severe weather in Washington Parish on Christmas Day beginning early as a warm front moves north, according to Washington Parish Director of Emergency Preparedness Tommy Thiebaud. The threat should come to an end late Tuesday evening, he said.

There is a potential for strong F2 tornadoes, damaging winds, hail and heavy rainfall along the north I-10/I-12 corridor. Thiebaud urges everyone to be safe when traveling the roads and to stay tuned to local media for updates.
