The Bogalusa Lady Jacks won two games over the weekend in a round robin tournament at Walker High School, improving their record to 3-7 on the season.

The Lady Jacks opened the tournament with a convincing win over Glen Oaks, 50-34. Bogalusa used a tough defense and domination of the backboard to garner the victory.

“Our defense was much better in this game than it has been,” said Bogalusa coach Adrian Frazier. “Even with two of our starters out we played good enough to win.”

The Lady Jacks were led by Gabrielle Alexander with 22 points and Darrias Phillips with 12.

In their final game the Lady Jacks played even better, scoring a lopsided 63-35 win over St. Helena.

“We played much better in this game,” said Frazier. “Our offense was much better, and we did some things on the court that I was very pleased with. This is the first game of the season that we were all healthy, and it paid off.”

Bogalusa never trailed in this game and jumped out to a 18-7 lead in the first period and 34-18 lead at the half.

I’m very happy with how the girls played this weekend,” Frazier said. “It should go far as we prepare to begin our district schedule.”

Alexander led the scoring again with 19 points with Philips close behind with 14. Parker added 12, and Erin Crawford had a nice night with 10 points. Bogalusa will stay at home this week, Port Allen on Friday.
