Robert Lee Carter Jr.

Robert Lee Carter Jr., 59, died at 9:25 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at his residence in Mt. Hermon.

Born June 9, 1953, he was former offshore worker for Noble Drilling and a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. He also was a proud U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, in which he received the bronze star. He enjoyed woodworking, sharpening knives and cleaning his guns. He liked playing the guitar.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Suzette Carter of Mt. Hermon; two daughters and sons-in-law, Stacie and Brandon Starnes of Bogalusa and Robyn and B.J. Graham of Wilmer; one grandson, Caiden Graham; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Rocky Watson of Franklinton; a brother and sister-in-law, Danny Ray and Janet Carter of Franklinton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Carter Sr. and Elizabeth Ann Reed Carter, and a stepson, Chris Watson.

Visitation was Saturday, Nov. 24 at Crain Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m., with Rev. Joe Kemp and Rev. Mike Stafford officiating. Burial followed with military honors in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
