Gerald Lavell Reeves, 74, a resident of Franklinton born June 22, 1938, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 at 6:15 p.m. at Riverside Medical Center.

He was a retired electrician after working with Cleco and offshore. He enjoyed fishing and working in his garden. He also loved cooking for his family.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Melanie and John Hickman and Becky and Ben Smith, all of Franklinton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Byron and Sherri Reeves of Franklinton and Jeff and Becky Reeves of Walker; 12 Grandchildren, Justin Reeves, Coty Reeves, Michael Reeves, Ryan Reeves, Kaylee Reeves, Brianna Reeves, Shane Hickman, Whitney Hickman, Chloe Reeves, Colby Reeves, Tyler Smith and Zachary Smith; five great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Locascio, Marissa Reeves, Sophia Reeves, Christian Hickman and Bentley Locascio; a sister, Vanda Miller of Franklinton; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marguerite Loyd Morin and Don Morin of Folsom; and two nieces, Barbara Epps and Anita Patin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Loyd Reeves; a grandson, Brandon Reeves; his parents, Clyde Reeves and Maudie Toney Reeves; a brother, Charles Reeves; and a sister-in-law, Paula Loyd Blackwell.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Nov. 20 at Crain Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Nathan Van Horn officiating. Burial followed in the San Pedro Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his eight grandsons.
