James Lavell Patterson, 39, born April 3, 1973 in Bogalusa, passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2012 at his residence in Bogalusa.

He is survived by his wife, Michelle Patterson of Bogalusa; three daughters, Lisa Patterson of Bogalusa and Jessica Patterson and Heather Patterson, both of Thomas; two stepchildren, Joseph Yarborough and Rebecca Reyne Yarborough, both of Bogalusa; his mother, Barbara (Bobbie) Wells of Bogalusa; his father, A.J. (Janice) Patterson of Bogalusa; one brother, Christopher Allen Patterson of Bogalusa; six stepbrothers, Chief Robert Byrd of Hampton, Va., Jason Byrd and Nathan Byrd, both of Picayune, Miss., Mark Wells of Texas and Timothy Wells and Shannon Jones, both of Bogalusa; and a nephew, Tyler Wells of Bogalusa.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, J.D. “Red” and Christine Jones; his paternal grandparents, Red and Vella Patterson; and his stepsister, René Wells.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Nov. 14 at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Visitation will continue Thursday in the funeral home chapel from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral services at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Patrick Magee officiating. Interment will follow at Pounds Cemetery.
