The Franklinton Demons will host the Lakeshore Titans tonight for the regular season finale.

Last week the Demons hung in throughout and trailed 20-17 with 2:19 remaining before Salmen scored with 1:36 to essentially seal the victory.

Quarterback Austin Armand has thrown for 1,085 yards on 76-of-141. He also leads the club with 441 rushing yards to go with four touchdowns.

Donovan Alonzo tops the receiving corps with 22 catches for 455 yards. Kendrick Brumfield begins at 15 receptions for 273 yards and Ron Robinson has 20 catches for 222 yards. Robinson also begins with 242 rushing yards and four scores.

The Demons have run for 1,281 yards.

Renaz Wilson enters with 283 running yards and six scores, while James Magee has added 261 yards.

Defensively, Brumfield intercepted a pass and Josh Magee blocked an extra point.

The Titans (1-7, 0-3) enter the contest after defeating Miller-McCoy Academy 56-20.

“It feels good to come into a week where you won the previous week,” Lakeshore coach Larry Route said. “The kids are more up tempo and feeling good after that first win.”

Franklinton (5-3, 2-1) enters, following a 27-17 loss to Salmen. Despite the loss, the Demons can still have part of the District 7-4A title. If they win tonight and Salmen (7-1, 3-0) falls to Pearl River, the Demons and Spartans would be co-district champions.

LHS captured last season’s contest 28-27.

Lakeshore’s offense got a strong performance from running back David Ducre last week with 135 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

Route said Ducre ran hard.

“He’s improved every week,” Route said. “As the season’s gone on, he’s gotten better and better.”

Freshman quarterback Nathan Faciane, who is starting in Dylan Fields’ place, scored LHS’ first two touchdowns last week with runs of 20 and 25 yards. Fields has a sprained ankle.

Rex Chapman found the end zone from eight yards out and Jared Scott returned a kickoff 80 yards for a TD.

Defensively, Route said tackle Brandon Ducre was unblockable last week.

“He’s actually playing both ways. He’s also playing guard,” Route said. “He had a couple blocks to spring guys for touchdowns. He dominated that game last week. They couldn’t block him.”

The Titans did a nice job of forcing turnovers.

Cyril Crutchfield, Cody Doucette and Dustynn Smith recorded an interception apiece.
