Buccaneers rally by Central Hinds

Bowling Green School rallied from a nine-point deficit to score two touchdowns in the fourth quarter and claim a 14-9 victory over Central Hinds Academy in Raymond, Miss. on Friday night.

“We pulled it out in the end,” Bowling Green coach Carmon Moore said.

Patrick Roublow scored both touchdowns for the Buccaneers and Conner McCain threw a touchdown pass and ran in a conversion.

Bowling Green got solid play from Jake Williams at running back and linebacker and Russ Smith had multiple tackles for loss. Drew Varnado made an an interception to seal the victory in the waning moments.

The took a 6-0 lead in the first quarter on an 80-yard fumble return and extended it to 9-0 on a 22-yard field goal.

Roublow caught a 12-yard touchdown from McCain to cut the score to 9-6 in the fourth quarter and returned an interception 55 yards to give Bowling Green the lead. McCain’s conversion run reflected the final tally.
