Kenneth E. Wilson Sr.

Kenneth E. Wilson Sr., born March 17, 1919, passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012 at his residence in Bogalusa.
He was a retired sales representative with LP&L and a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific. He was a member of Superior Avenue Baptist Church, American Legion Post 24 and the IBEW.
He is survived by his wife, Emelda S. Wilson of Bogalusa; his son, Kenneth E. (Darlene) Wilson Jr. of Covington; his daughter, Barbara W. Spiers of Bogalusa; his brother, Charles (Ruth) Wilson of Oro Valley, Ariz.; eight grandchildren, Debra S. (Tony) Bruno of Bogalusa, O.R. Spiers Jr. of Bogalusa, Joseph L. “Jay” Hall Jr. of Prairieville, Cam Elizabeth Lucas of Prairieville, Joshua (Lindsey) Kalena of Orange, Texas, Stephanie (Doug) Clayton of Aspen, Colo., Alexis B. Wilson of Covington and Kenneth E. Wilson III of Covington. He is also survived by a son-in-law, Joe Hall of Baton Rouge, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Wilson; his daughter, Linda W. Hall; a son-in-law, O.R. Spiers Sr.; three brothers, Woodrow W. Wilson, Norman E. Wilson and James Wilson; and two sisters, Clotilde Blower and Lucille Perrett.
Visitation was held Monday, Aug. 13 at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 5:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. and continued Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time for the funeral services in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m., with Reverend Clay Norwood officiating. Interment followed at Ponemah Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tony and Justin Bruno, Jay Hall, Kenny Wilson III, Joshua Kalena, O.R. Spiers Jr., Larry Libert and Rick Adams.
