Webber Jarrell

Webber Jarrell, 86, born May 26, 1926, passed away Monday, Aug. 6, 2012 at his residence in Carriere, Miss.

He was a retired foreman with the LSU Forestry Department and also served as minister and member of Temple Baptist Church in Bogalusa. He was also a veteran of WWII and received a Purple Heart during his service in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife, Eloise Jarrell of Carriere; a son, Hayward (Cynthia) Jarrell of Bogalusa; a daughter, Darlene (Ned) McCain of Sandy Hook, Miss.; two sisters, Ruby Furgerson of Texas and Delphaia Schattgen of Tennessee; six grandchildren, Bridgett (Spencer) DeLeon, Jason Jarrell, Russell McCain, Teneal (Jon) Kennedy, Sarah Jarrell and Ashley (Brian) Este; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ora Jarrell; a brother, William Jarrell; and two sisters, Zelda Kenmore and Elsie Kennedy.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Aug. 7 at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will resume Wednesday, from 8 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Rev. Carl Beech, Rev. Albert Schattgen and Rev. Lynn Martin will officiate the services. Interment will follow at Henlyfield Cemetery, located in Henlyfield, Miss.
