NEW ORLEANS (AP) – The New Orleans Saints will open training camp on Tuesday, when all players under contract report for physicals, meetings and conditioning.

The Saints will hold strength and conditioning tests and meetings on Wednesday and begin non-padded practice sessions on Thursday and Friday from 4-6:45 p.m.

Padded practice sessions will begin on Saturday and Sunday. The team will not practice on Monday, July 30 before returning to normal scheduling through Aug. 3.

The Saints, under the direction of interim head coach Joe Vitt, who takes over for Sean Payton who is serving a one-year suspension for the team’s bounty program, will play their first preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals in the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio on Aug. 5 at 7 p.m.

Vitt is also suspended for the first six games of the regular season.
