Douglas Gaddy

Douglas Gaddy, 74, of Timpson, Texas, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012 in Longview, Texas.

He was born on Oct. 8, 1937 in Bogalusa to Robert Gaddy and Irene Lalonde Gaddy and served in the United States Air Force. He worked hard as a welder for several years and later owned and operated Gaddy’s Ambulance Service in Shelby County, Texas. Douglas was a member of Delta County Masonic Lodge and loved barbequing and cooking Cajun dishes.

He is survived by his sons, Danny Gaddy and wife, Callie, of Arthur City, Texas; Douglas (Taco) Gaddy and wife, Susie, of Texarkana, Texas; Scott Gaddy and wife, Jennifer, of Powderly, Texas; Chuck Gaddy and wife, Susan, of Center, Texas; Robert Gaddy and wife, Stephanie, of Center; and Chris Gaddy and wife, April, of Timpson; his daughters, Roxanne Kelso and husband, Paul, of Cooper, Texas; Rachel Bradshaw of Center; Amanda Bush and husband, Charlie, of Center; and Lauren Richards of Timpson; 22 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ray R. Gaddy and wife, Helen, of Carriere, Miss. and Dannie L. Gaddy and wife, Janie, of Franklinton; and his sister, Rosemary Boatwright and husband, Olen, of Helena, Ala.

His parents, Robert Gaddy and Irene Gaddy, and a grandson, Bradley Kent Richards, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 15 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Chapel Cemetery in Chicota, Texas.
