Otis E. Alexander

Otis E. Alexander, 72, of New Orleans, departed this life for his heavenly home on Oct. 27, 2015 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, after a lengthy illness.

A service celebrating his life will be held Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home, 939 Cleveland St., in Franklinton.

Otis E. Alexander was born Aug. 12, 1943 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Alexander. Otis’ primary education was obtained at Folsom Elementary School. He later attended Franklinton High School.

Otis accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by the Late Rev. Aaron Alexander at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Otis always enjoyed the outdoors, he loved to go fishing and having fish frys.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. Otis worked in road construction for many years, from which he later retired.

Otis leaves to cherish his memory one aunt, Mamie Garrett of Franklinton, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Maurice Henderson and Henry Alexander.

The funeral service will start at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Hay Hollow Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Joseph Cyprian officiating.
