Take advantage of Blues Fest

The city of Bogalusa takes center stage this weekend, as people will come from miles around to visit the Magic City for the Bogalusa Blues and Heritage Festival.

The event features performances on two different stages.

Things get underway this evening at 5 p.m. on the Blues Stage and the final performance is starting at 8 p.m.

Tomorrow, performances on the Blues Stage begin at noon with the final act hitting the stage at 8:45 p.m.

On the Heritage Stage, things get going at 11:30 a.m. and the last performance is at 7:30 p.m.

Besides the performances, the festival includes a 5K, opening ceremonies, Native American and Pioneer Museums, canoeing on the Bogue Lusa Creek, the Kids Zone, drumming circle and Cajun Canvas art classes. Also, Greyhawk Perkins shares stories of local Native Americans at noon and 4 p.m. and there is a harmonica workshop at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

There are plenty of things for people of all ages to enjoy, so take some time out this weekend and head on out to the festival. Show everybody how great of a place Bogalusa is.
