A 2-year-old Washington Parish child died Sunday as a result of a drowning in an above-ground swimming pool in Angie.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:25 p.m. on Carl Ard Road. After a 911 call, Brayden Harris was discovered unresponsive by officials from Fire District No. 6 and Northshore EMS, according to Deputy Chief Shannon Lyons of the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Lyons said that the child was transferred by ambulance to Our Lady of the Angels Hospital, where he could not be revived.
