Katherine Haik, the reigning Miss Louisiana Teen USA, will be headed to the Atlantis Resort in Nassau, Bahamas, to represent the state of Louisiana at the Miss Teen USA pageant.

Haik is the 15-year-old daughter of Tim and Jennifer Haik of Franklinton. Her grandparents are Victor and Verna Haik of Bogalusa and Terry and the late J.Y. Seal of Franklinton.

Haik is a sophomore at Franklinton High School, where she is an honor student maintaining a 4.0 GPA. She is a member of the Demonettes dance team, the Lady Demon softball and basketball teams, FCA, 4H, FOR and Beta Clubs and was selected as a freshman class favorite. Haik is on the competition team with The Breaking Pointe Dance Academy and has enjoyed dancing for the past 12 years.

She is the youngest to ever be crowned Miss Louisiana Teen USA, earning the honor at just 14 years old in October 2014. She said she has enjoyed traveling throughout the United States representing the state of Louisiana.

She has had numerous modeling opportunities and has enjoyed volunteering with organizations such as Toys for Tots, USO That’s My Dress, The Very Special Miss Louisiana Pageant and the Special Olympics.

In past years, Haik has worked with Dream Factory and Big Buddies and volunteered at a special needs daycare. She loves encouraging girls to be themselves and showing them that beauty shines from the inside out.

Haik will again be the youngest contestant competing at the Miss Teen USA pageant on Aug. 21-22. The pageant will be livestreamed online at missteenusa.com at 7 p.m. Central time for those wishing to watch the pageant.
